Miss Bossy Pants

I have loved watching A grow each day, from when she was little and figuring out how to wiggle and move around, to now when she is learning new words and constantly exploring her surrounds. But today I saw a new side of A...a bossy side. Don't get me wrong, it was not the temper-tantrum-throwing, feet-stomping kind of bossy, but rather the follow-the-rules bossy.

It all started today at story time, which Nicole and I stopped by with the kids after our workout this morning.  In the beginning A and E were swaying along with the crazy lady conducting this ordeal, but soon they started to lose interest. First A started spinning in circles and checking out the girls and boys sitting close to us. Then E started looking at his reflection in the floor and "kissing" himself. Don't worry we were quick to stop this one.

Then it happened...E started getting braver and walked a little further than A was comfortable with, so A went right up to him and said, "no" and bear hugged him and started walking back toward us. As Nicole and I are rolling on the floor laughing, E breaks free and takes off again. This time A runs over and grabs his shirt and pulls him back to us. This goes on for about 5 minutes with E alternating walking past A's comfort zone, to E checking out other people's mats...and all the while little A is there to reign him in.

Losing interest with the lady singing

Checking out the other kids, and trying to find out where to get a mat from in this place.

Very happy when I brought a mat back for her.

Chasing E down as he wanders off

Giving one last sway before we hit the road.

I know I have said it a million times before, but these two are going to be some serious trouble together. At least now we know A will come and tell us exactly what they did!
