It Is The Little Things

It is the little things that make all the difference, and having A has really made me appreciate this on a whole new level. Today was a very typical Baltimore morning. The weather station in our kitchen read 86 degrees at 8:45am, and the humidity was 100%...something I definitely did not think to check before we headed out the door.

As I pulled up to the park for Stroller Strides, the most amazing workout ever that I certainly credit to getting my pre-baby shape back, and stepped out of the car you could feel the humidity drop on you like a wet towel, heavy, suffocating, thick, and a bit stinky. Regardless, I hauled the BOB out of the car and got A, and her snacks, all situated. Thirty minutes into the workout and we were both sweating more than I thought possible. Both of our shirts were drenched and A was starting to get cranky. Another 40 minutes later class was over and I could no longer feel my legs as we slowly made our way to the playground.

Although A was super hot and sweaty she couldn't wait to run around on the playground with her friends; and even with matted down hair, a wet shirt, and sticky limbs she had a blast laughing with her friends, playing a game of peek-a-boo, and of course some climbing and sliding!
"Mom, if I told you once, I told you 100 times. Please stop taking pictures of me, it is embarrassing."

"Look, a piece of mulch all the way up here!"

"I have to focus when I go down the slide...safety first."

"Weeeeee"

"I love the playground. Come and get me Will!"

"Really? You think it is your turn driving this ship...I don't think so."

Me: "A, please be nice and share."
A: Blank Stare
Me: "Sharing is caring"
A: The Look

"Will, where did I go!"
"Peek-a-boo!"

"Oh no, where is Will"
"Peek-a-boo!"

We're Back

After an AMAZING vacation up at the beach, we finally make the trip home today. It took a little prying to leave, but my hubby did have to go back to that place they call work...something he only vaguely remembers how to do in the summer time.

Our time at the beach was filled with lots of family time, bike rides, parades, walks, beach fun, pool time, and even a 5K (well almost)...and you know how I know we all had the best time...because I don't have any pictures of it! Here are some from one afternoon that I actually had my phone with me!

Here are some of our little peanut, A, playing on the beach!
Learning how to love the sand

And strut her stuff on the beach :)

Playing with her just older cousin

Learning everything she can from her big cousin about sand

Enjoying some time "by her self" although heavily supervised :)

She sat and filled up all the buckets!

Learning how to collect shells in her bucket

I love my big cousin!

A's oldest cousin digging her an A-sided hole to play in

And of course some time with Aunt Amanda :)

Not really understanding the joys of lounging like mommy

But having a blast running away from daddy!

Her own little seat in the sand

And the first pictures of the First Annual Munn Fun Run! Basically, there is a 5K each 4th of July, and we all dragged our VERY hung over selves out of bed and were dressed and ready for the race at 8:45....too bad it didn't start till 10am. Well, as our motivation dropped and we transitioned from "maybe still drunk" to "officially hung over" we thought, what the heck, we will make our own run! So we ran the same loop, shouting happy 4th to all who could hear! Here is our victory photo!

Yes, I ran with A in her stroller and the two little girls on bikes were our escorts ( A's bigest cousin and her friend)

A Much Needed Vacation

Although I didn't really feel particularly stressed or overworked at home, the minute we got in the car last night and started our 6 hr drive to CT, I could feel the stress leaving my body. The drive was not bad at all and we arrived around 1am, got A tucked into her crib and hit the sheets for a few hours of rest. Around 6am A started to stir, so I sleepily rolled over, picked my head up to look out the window and was greeted by this...the most amazing wake up view I have had since last summer.
Yes, I am the youngest of three but somehow managed to get the best room in the house!

After breakfast and some unpacking, we buckled A into her CT stroller (yes, I actually leave one up here since we have too much to bring up with the kid, dog, and all everyone's stuff) and went for a  loop around "The Point". That is what it is called here, since we are on a peninsula. A loved being back, smelling the salty air, and listening to the seagulls. After a walk and a necessary trip to the grocery store, we put A down for a nap, my husband pretended to do work for a little bit, and I got to lay in the sun with the first girl that joined our family for some quality snuggle time!
What a big girl A looks like in her new crocks!

The South side of "The Point"

My giant snuggle bug

Who took up almost all of the lounge chair

I can't wait till A gets up and we can bike down to the beach for some fun in the sand, or just lazily play in the yard with the water table!
How much better would this picture look with a mommy and daddy sitting on the wall with a cocktail
